After just a year of operations, the JW Marriott Reston Station is getting a new management company.
Davidson Hospitality Group will take over operations of the 247-room hotel at 11350 Reston Station Blvd from Crescent Hotels and Resorts, starting Oct. 1, Reston Station developer Comstock Companies announced this morning (Thursday).
Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Davidson manages over 60 hotels and resorts, 150-plus restaurants and bars, and nearly 1.5 million square feet of meeting space across the U.S., according to a press release. Its existing Northern Virginia holdings include the Hilton at the Mark Center in Alexandria.
“We are thrilled to bring on a best-in-class hospitality management provider like Davidson to the JW Marriott Reston Station,” Comstock Chief Operating Officer Tim Steffan said in the release. “Their proven ability to deliver upscale luxury service, drive performance, and elevate guest experiences will perfectly complement the unique design and guest profile of the one-of-a-kind JW Marriott Reston Station.”
Comstock describes the change in management as a “strategic next step as the hotel enters its next phase of growth.”
“All current hotel employees will be given the opportunity to remain on staff, and layoffs are not anticipated,” a Comstock spokesperson told FFXnow, adding that “no disruption to hotel or residential operations, or to the guest and resident experience, is expected.”
The announcement follows the departure of the hotel’s general manager last Friday (Aug. 28), a tipster told FFXnow. The Comstock spokesperson confirmed that JW Marriott Reston Station General Manager Dewayne Wright stepped down, but that development is unrelated to the swap in hotel management companies, she said.
In the press release, Comstock Chairman and CEO Christopher Clemente praised the Crescent Hotels team, including Wright and CEO Michael George, “for their tremendous contributions in positioning the JW Marriott Reston Station as the premier luxury hotel and conference facility in the region.”
As the new manager, Davidson has been tasked with “maximizing the asset’s long-term value and further enhancing the overall guest experience,” the release says.

Opened in September 2025 as the brand’s first location in Virginia, the JW Marriott Reston Station hotel’s amenities include over 40,000 square feet of event and meeting space, a fitness center with mindfulness rooms, and three dining options, including The Simon, a cocktail and wine lounge called Schar Bar, and a JW Market cafe.
An expansion of the hotel’s conference center was on track to be delivered this fall, Comstock said in a second-quarter 2026 financial report released on Aug. 13.
The hotel is paired with the 94-unit JW Marriott Residences, which occupies the top 14 floors of the 28-story high-rise. The condominium sales have set records in Virginia, most recently with the 28th-floor penthouse getting snapped up for $10.9 million last month.
Towering over Wiehle Avenue, the JW Marriott is an anchor of the Row at Reston Station, the latest phase of Comstock’s 90-acre, mixed-use development around the Wiehle Metro station.
Extending Reston Station north to Sunset Hills Road, the recently completed neighborhood also encompasses the 419-unit BLVD Haley apartment building and two office buildings, whose announced tenants so far include Booz Allen Hamilton, QTS Data Centers and Razor’s Edge Ventures.
Reston Row’s retail offerings also continue to expand, with the restaurant Ebbitt House expected to join Noku Sushi, Tous les Jours and Vida Fitness in October. Comstock signed a lease earlier this year to bring an indoor golf simulator venue from Back Nine Golf to the retail space in BLVD Haley (1860 Reston Row Plaza), but it’s not clear yet when the facility might open.
