As discussions continue on the first block of The Ox Fairfax, Ox Hill Companies is starting to craft a plan for a second block of the mixed-use development, which could transform the historic heart of Old Town Fairfax.
The Fairfax City Council will get a briefing this evening (Feb. 4) on a concept plan for “Block B” of The Ox. Submitted last October, the proposal calls for a six-story residential building with 240 units on a 2-acre site at 4021 and 4031 University Drive.
Even with increased development in the area, Reston’s bird population has remained steady — at least according to Reston Association’s annual bird counts.

A man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a Fairfax County police officer.
Officers responded to the 12800 block of Fair Lakes Pkwy at around 2:47 p.m. for a “suspicious person” after 911 received “several calls” from someone who was rambling, according to scanner traffic.
The McLean Citizens Association (MCA) is calling for the Fairfax County School Board to delay the construction of a new Dunn Loring elementary school, arguing that the project is unnecessary given the ongoing decline in student enrollment at nearby schools.
The request comes ahead of a Fairfax County Board of Supervisors meeting tomorrow (Feb. 4), when officials are set to hold a public hearing and vote on whether to approve the project.
