Vienna Moms Spring Storybook Festival

Vienna Town Green
144 Maple Avenue E
Vienna, Virginia 22180

Join Vienna Moms and the Bards Alley booksellers at Vienna’s Town Green for a spring storybook festival! The festival features readings and activities for kids of all ages hosted by four local authors and will take place in the morning on Saturday, May 11.

At 10:10 a.m., new Vienna author Leah Moser will read her debut picture book “I Am a Thundercloud.” The book guides readers through understanding their emotions, even those that feel like a thunderstorm brewing inside, and knowing when to ask for help so they can help tame that feeling.

At 10:30 a.m., Pat Tanumihardja will lead a story time and craft featuring her picture book “Ramen for Everyone,” a gorgeously illustrated story about Hiro’s attempts to make ramen as delicious as his dad’s. It’s a story of learning from your mistakes and realizing everyone’s uniqueness and potential.

At 11:00 a.m., former Bards Alley bookseller Kathy Ellen Davis will read her picture book “Ta-Da!” With fun onomatopoeia and action sequences, this story is a celebration of imagination, conflict resolution, and the joys of collaboration and coming together.

At 11:30 a.m., author Gabriella Aldeman will host a reading of “Paula’s Patches,” her debut picture book about a girl who teachers her peers about the wonders of reusing and recycling clothing. Her reading will be followed by a craft activity related to the book’s themes of consumerism and creativity.

Registration is not required. Just stop by for a story time or stay all morning! The authors’ books are available for purchase from Bards Alley. Interested individuals can find them in the store or order a copy by calling (571) 459-2653.
