A Fairfax County Circuit Court judge has accepted an Arlington man’s plea agreement of not guilty by reason of insanity in the murder of nonprofit CEO Gret Glyer.
The decision finalized yesterday (Thursday) resulted in the formal acquittal of Joshua Danehower, who had been charged with one count each of second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A Virginia court on Thursday effectively blocked Democrats’ planned April voter referendum to redraw the state’s congressional maps, another potentially devastating blow to the party’s effort to pick up four more U.S. House seats in the national redistricting battle.

Data Center Tax Exemptions Advance — “The Virginia House of Delegates on Tuesday passed legislation continuing billions of dollars in state tax exemptions for all qualifying new and existing data centers as long as they take a series of steps to move away from fossil fuels and transition to renewable energy.” The bill sponsored by Del. Spanberger Tapped for State of the Union Response — “Virginia Gov. Bills Would Bump Back Absentee Ballot Deadline — “HB 82 and SB 58, introduced by Del. Adele McClure (D-2) and State Sen. Fairfax County government officials and other civic leaders are paying tribute to former Sully District Supervisor Michael Frey, who died Feb. 16.
“We’re all in shock” at the unanticipated passing of the former supervisor, Board of Supervisors Chairman Jeff McKay said at the body’s Feb. 17 meeting, observing that Frey “left us far too soon, with so much more to give.”

After eight years of operating in Fairfax, Mod Pizza will close its location in Greenbriar Town Center near Chantilly.
“We sincerely thank our past and present Squad members for their dedication, as well as the Fairfax community for its loyal support over the years,” a spokesperson said in a statement to FFXnow.

Candidates vying for three open seats will first participate in a virtual forum held at 6:30 p.m. tonight (Thursday) by the Reston Citizens Association, followed by an in-person and live-streamed forum at RA’s headquarters (12001 Sunrise Valley Drive) at the same time next Tuesday (Feb. 24).

More than three years after the departure of Blackfinn Ameripub, a new restaurant appears to be filling the vacancy near the Dunn Loring Metro station.
The Vienna Lodge Bar & Grill will soon occupy the space on the ground floor of the Avalon Dunn Loring apartments at 2750 Gallows Road, according to signage now adorning the windows of the storefront.
