Suspect in Attacks on Unhoused People Previously Jailed in Fairfax County — “Gerald Brevard III, 30, had been in and out of jail in D.C., Virginia and Maryland on varying charges including assaulting a police officer and shoplifting, court records show. Man Arrested for Herndon Sexual Assault — “Andy Josue Calix Mejia, 23, of Sterling was arrested for sexually assaulting a juvenile last year in the Town of Herndon, according police…The incident happened March 25, 2021, in the 500 block of Florida Avenue.” [Patch]

The Audrey Moore Rec Center, built in 1977, is getting input from people on what upgrades it needs.

As the oldest rec center still operating in the Park Authority’s portfolio, Fairfax County has been setting aside money in park bonds and surveying people about what improvements would be needed for the 8100 Braddock Road facility, which includes a pool, racquetball courts and more.

Annandale will get its first Chick-fil-A this year.

A company spokesperson tells FFXnow that the 4,400-square-foot fast food restaurant is expected to open at 7120 Little River Turnpike in the spring.

(Updated at 12 p.m.) Police are investigating a stabbing after a man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Fairfax County Police Department spokesperson Tara Gerhard said the man was attacked outside last night in Annandale. The call came in around 10:08 p.m. yesterday (Wednesday), and police responded to the area of Daniels Avenue and Mangalore Drive.
