Good news for anyone turned off by the Trump administration’s overhaul of the Kennedy Center: you don’t have to cross the Potomac River to get a taste of Broadway in the D.C. area.

Yesterday (Monday), Capital One Hall (7750 Capital One Tower Road) unveiled a new slate of shows dominated by 20th-century throwbacks for its fifth “Broadway in Tysons” season.

Patrons at Sisters Thai in Tysons will be sipping plenty of tea this weekend.

After opening in Capital One Center last fall, the restaurant is expanding the offerings at its flagship location with the introduction of high tea service from its recently introduced Flore Café.

Sisters Thai is finally cooking in Tysons, almost three years after its expansion plans were announced.

The local chain known for its cozy, bespoke decor will launch its biggest restaurant yet tonight (Monday) at 7735 Capital One Tower Road in Capital One Center. Service will start at 5-9 p.m., with a limited menu available during the soft opening, founder Tammie Disayawathana says.

The star of Capital One Center’s next Perchfest will be a green ogre who speaks with a distinct Scottish brogue.

The Tysons development has teamed up with “Shrek the Musical” for the latest edition of its biannual festival, which will return to The Perch (1805 Capital One Drive) next Friday and Saturday (Sept. 20 and 21).

Construction continues at Capital One’s headquarters campus in Tysons, this time to turn vacant land near the McLean Metro station into urban parks.

Work on the future Capital One East and “Block D” parks has been underway for months. In addition to providing open space and recreational amenities, the projects will deliver hundreds of new parking spaces, though it’s unclear whether the lots will be free or paid.

Decades in the making, the Silver Line’s Phase 1 launch on July 25, 2014 represented the D.C. region’s biggest rail expansion since the Green Line opened in 1991 and set the stage for a connection to Dulles International Airport and Loudoun County that came to fruition with Phase 2 on Nov. 15, 2022.

Capital One Center may be hopping on board with the modern-day “speakeasy” trend that continues to fascinate the D.C. area.

Capital One recently applied for a commercial alteration permit from Fairfax County that would allow for a “Watermark Speakeasy” on its headquarters campus in Tysons. The 1,500-square-foot bar would be located at the top of the 25-floor Watermark Hotel, adjacent to the fitness center, according to a building plan dated May 16.

Starr Hill Brewery’s expansion to the ground level of Capital One Center in Tysons is now complete.

The company announced on Tuesday (May 7) that its Starr Hill Brewpub is officially open at 7730 Capital One Tower Road, allowing it to offer additional food, drinks and live music beyond what’s available at Starr Hill Biergarten in The Perch on the roof of Capital One Hall.

Stellina Pizzeria has a launch date for its upcoming Tysons restaurant.

The D.C.-based chain will open its largest location yet at Capital One Center (1610 Capital One Drive) in Tysons next Tuesday, April 30, at 4 p.m. The occasion will be marked with an offer of free tiramisu to the first 50 customers who make a purchase.

(Updated at 9:35 a.m. on 4/2/2024) Fresh off this past Saturday’s Easter celebration, Capital One Center in Tysons is gearing up to launch two restaurants and a new edition of Perchfest later this spring.

Stellina Pizzeria and Starr Hill Brewpub are both expected to open in late April, though precise dates haven’t been established yet, according to Capital One Center.
