More residents are starting to move into The Mather Tysons with the recent completion of a second building.

The senior living community at 7929 Westpark Drive opened its 18-story south building in early September, adding another 114 independent living apartments to the 179 units delivered with the initial north building in March.

Amazon is looking to add an industrial park near Dulles International Airport to its network of Northern Virginia data centers.

Amazon Data Services has applied for air pollution control permits from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to allow data center facilities at 13860 and 13876 Redskin Drive in Renaissance Technology Park, a warehouse complex just east of Route 28 in the Floris area of Herndon.

A plan to redevelop Van Buren Office Park in Herndon into a mostly residential development could be the first test case of a soon-to-be established zoning district in the Town of Herndon.

Rooney Properties, owner of the office park at 250 Exchange Place, wants to replace the five existing office buildings and surface parking with a 400-unit multi-family residential building and garage as well as 66 townhouse units.

Space in Herndon’s Woodland Park neighborhood that was previously approved for office uses could flip instead into a mostly residential building.

The Texas-based developer Trammell Crow Residential has purchased the contract for a little over three acres of vacant land at the intersection of the Dulles Airport Access Road and Monroe Street so it can construct an apartment building with 320 units and nearly 118,000 square feet of storage space.

A pair of office buildings built in Herndon’s McNair area at the turn of the millennium may soon be replaced with hundreds of homes.

The developer Mandrake Capital Partners is seeking to build 240 townhomes and 18 multifamily units on roughly 12 acres of land at the southwestern corner of the Dulles Technology Drive and Sunrise Valley Driver intersection, according to an application submitted to Fairfax County on Sept. 13.

A joint emergency room and urgent care center that Virginia Hospital Center (VHC) says will be the first facility of its kind in Virginia took a step closer to becoming a reality last week.

The Fairfax County Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval on Wednesday, Sept. 18 of VHC Health’s proposal to redevelop Graham Center (7234 Arlington Blvd) in West Falls Church with a new medical facility — a project that county staff agreed will “significantly improve pedestrian safety” compared to the existing, aging shopping center.
