A Chantilly man who had been missing for the past week was found dead today (Monday) after his vehicle was pulled out of the Occoquan River.

Quang Hang, 78, was reported missing by his family around 8 p.m. on Dec. 1 after he never returned home from a vehicle inspection scheduled to take place in Leesburg at 2:30 p.m., according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

Fairfax County police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash on Richmond Highway.

Officers and medics were dispatched to the intersection of Richmond Highway and Fairfax County Parkway in Fort Belvoir at 9:51 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 7) for a crash involving a struck pedestrian, according to scanner traffic.

A private tennis coach in Lorton has been arrested after a student alleged that he engaged in an inappropriate relationship with her.

The victim told officers on Nov. 23 that Tony Adams, 62, had “subjected [her] to inappropriate conduct” when she was taking lessons from him, the Fairfax County Police Department says. She was underage at the time.

More than four years after the body of Maryland resident Tafari “Trey” Nadhim was found in Hybla Valley, Fairfax County police are still searching for those responsible for his death.

Nadhim is believed to have been shot and killed in the early morning hours on July 5, 2021 — hours after attending an Independence Day block party. His body was located three days after his death in the 7800 block of Janna Lee Avenue.

Snow has arrived in Fairfax County, creating slick, dangerous roads during this morning’s rush hour.

Richmond Highway has been closed in both directions in the Lorton area after “several vehicles … spun out” on the snow-covered road, the Fairfax County Police Department said shortly after 8 a.m.

Fairfax County police are pursuing a manslaughter charge against the driver who allegedly crashed into an ambulance in Herndon last month, killing a passenger in his car.

Jose Lopez Martinez, a 23-year-old resident of Nokesville, was arrested on Tuesday (Dec. 2) after detectives brought the new charge, which comes on top of an initial charge of driving while intoxicated for the Nov. 25 crash.

A man who allegedly claimed to have a bomb before boarding a bus in Woodlawn over the weekend has been arrested.

Blake Davis Norton, 57, boarded a Fairfax Connector bus in Woodlawn yesterday (Sunday) after telling the bus’s driver that he had a bomb in his backpack, the Fairfax County Police Department said in a press release today.

A pedestrian has died in the wake of a crash that occurred last month on Old Keene Mill Road in Springfield.

Marcos Ramirez, 53, was crossing Old Keene Mill Road at Hanover Avenue around 8 p.m. on Nov. 16 when the westbound driver of a 2011 Honda Accord struck him, the Fairfax County Police Department says.

A Centreville man is facing criminal charges after police connected him to a vehicle reported stolen in Reston.

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, detectives responded to the 1600 block of Reston Parkway around 12:35 p.m. on Monday (Nov. 24) after receiving an alert for a 1999 Toyota Camry that had been reported stolen the previous day.

One person is dead and three other people are injured after an apparently alcohol-fueled crash on Worldgate Drive in Herndon that involved an ambulance.

A worker on the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department’s ambulance 436 reported around 4:02 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 25) that they were “involved” in a collision at the intersection of Worldgate Drive and Alton Square outside WorldGate Plaza, according to scanner traffic.
