The owners of Residence Inn in the Town of Herndon say the building’s layout and amenities no longer meet “top tier hotel brand standards.”
As a result, they hope the town will allow the hotel to shift into a multifamily residential project with half of the units dedicated for workforce housing.
Herndon police are investigating a shooting after a person was transported with injuries not believed to be life-threatening last night (Sunday).
Officers responded to the 700 block of Elden Street to investigate after a report of a shooting, the Herndon Police Department tweeted around 10:50 p.m.

Traffic Disruption Scheduled in Herndon — “Crews will be working at the intersection of Elden Street and Monroe Street to replace the current traffic signal pole and mast arm. On Friday, March 11th, a brief traffic disruption of approximately 15 minutes will be required as the mast arm is installed. Town of Herndon residents will no longer have to pay town and county taxes separately.

Hopefully, you’re not a habitual Herndon parking ticket recipient, but anyone who does wind up with a ticket may notice a difference in the citations.
Herndon Police Department has implemented a new electronic parking ticket system. While there are still handwritten tickets, you may come across the new type that appear more like a store receipt, the department says.

Police are in the 1100 block of Dublin Place and arrested Dimitri Pike, 23, of Herndon. He was charged with malicious wounding of a victim that was known to him.
