Tysons’ newest eatery won’t be found in the usual malls and mixed-use developments. Instead, it has set up base in a cluster of corporate office buildings where Jones Branch Drive curves parallel to the Dulles Toll Road.

Welcomed with a ribbon cutting and prayer, the latter courtesy of Fort Foote Baptist Church Pastor Rev. Joseph Lyles, Mrs. Jo’s Petite Eats celebrated its grand opening Tuesday (June 7) on the ground floor of PenFed Credit Union’s headquarters at 7940 Jones Branch Drive.

The Arlington-based business plans to open up shop at Old Keene Mill Shopping Center, at 8434 Old Keene Mill Road, according to county permits.

Grill Kabob is expanding its Tysons footprint beyond the mall food court.

With 17 years at Tysons Corner Center under its belt, the Afghan kabob chain is working on its first standalone location in the area at Pike 7 Plaza (8385 Leesburg Pike). An exact launch date hasn’t been set, but the restaurant will “definitely” be ready in June, co-owner Wais Shoja says.

At this time next month, McLean diners will be able to grab a hamburger and sit down to a platter of lamb kabobs all in one location.

The D.C.-based chain Z-Burger and Persian restaurant Maman Joon are on track to open at 1408 Chain Bridge Road in early June, Z-Burger owner Peter Tabibian told FFXnow on Monday (May 23).

Jollibee has confirmed that it plans to open its fried chicken chain in Chantilly some time this year.

The popular restaurant will open at 4406 Chantilly Shopping Center in space formerly occupied by Burger King.

(Updated at 4:15 p.m.) The family behind Knossos Restaurant, an eatery that called Leesburg home for a decade, is bringing its Greek and American cuisine to Elden Street.

Owner Sarfraz Nawaz said many customers have been asking about plans to open a new location. Once the renovation is completed, the business will open at 150 Elden Street, Suite 180, the former home of Spice Town.

One of Chantilly’s core shopping centers is getting a jolt of life with the arrival of a few new businesses, including a recently added bakery.

Notably, Shilla Bakery & Cafe opened a third location in the Sully Place Shopping Center late last month. The traditional Korean bakery first opened in 1999 and has since expanded to three locations, including a spot in Tysons. The bakery opened at 13938 Metrotech Drive on April 25.
