The now-vacant shell of Clyde’s of Reston — which closed last month after more than three decades of business in Reston’s urban heart — will soon be filled by a new wine-focused restaurant.

According to a report by the Washington Business Journal, the Dallas-based restaurant Sixty Vines has signed a deal with Boston Properties for roughly 10,000 square feet of space at 11905 Market Street.

A nearly 60,000-square-foot proposed arts center in the heart of Reston Town Center could cost up to $81 million.

The proposed center comes out of a proffer from Boston Properties’ next phase of development at Reston Town Center. It would be located next to Sunset Hills Road in the southeastern corner of the proposed development site.

Two injured fledglings from a peregrine falcon nest in Reston are expected to make their way back to their home soon after taking a tumble during last week’s storms.

A smaller male was blown of his nest at the top of a building during storms two Fridays ago and the larger female hit a window, fracturing her coracoid bone.

Truck Fire Shuts Down I-95 South — “Saturday around 4:30 p.m., units were dispatched for a Truck Fire on I-95 South at Mile Marker 161. BB Gun Drawn in Reston Over Smoking Confrontation — A security guard was surrounded by 10 juveniles outside a business in the 11900 block of Market Street on May 31 after telling them that smoking was not allowed there. One of the juveniles displayed a handgun that police later determined was “a replica style Glock BB gun.” No injuries were reported, but police intend to seek petitions for charges. [FCPD]

Various pieces to redevelop land at the intersection of Bowman Towne Drive and Town Center Parkway — known as Reston Town Center North — are moving along as Fairfax County seeks applications for the project.

Hunter Mill District Supervisor Walter Alcorn directed staff at a Board of Supervisors meeting yesterday (Tuesday) to conduct a master plan study for the county-owned land in RTC North.

CitySwing, a golf facility designed for people of all skill levels, plans to open at Reston Town Center in the first quarter of next year.

The facility at 11897 Market Street will be the company’s second, joining a site in D.C.

Clyde’s of Reston, an American bar and restaurant, will permanently close its doors tomorrow, ending 31 years of business in Reston Town Center.

But even as it auctions off iconic memorabilia and customers flood in for the restaurant’s final days, the company tells FFXnow that a lease at an undisclosed location in Reston for a new restaurant concept is “very close” to finalization.

Local artist Bryan King began work yesterday (Monday) on two new murals at The Harrison at Reston Town Center. Titled “Salute to Reston,” the murals depict Reston’s skyline and the Mercury Fountain in RTC.
