I-495 Widening Project Makes Progress — “The final phase of the $660 million, 2.5-mile Capital Beltway expansion in Virginia is in the home stretch after nearly four years. The grocery store is set to close on July 20 after 16 years on the ground floor of the Lofts at Park Crest (8200 Crestwood Heights Drive), according to a message sent this afternoon (Monday) to local Harris Teeter members.

More than 2,000 properties in Fairfax County, most of them in McLean, are currently without power, as the D.C. region suffers through a potentially prolonged heat wave.
According to its outage map, Dominion Energy has 2,132 customers in Fairfax County without power, as of 3:25 p.m. The largest outages appear to be centered around downtown McLean, where crews are assessing the damage to the affected electrical infrastructure.
The latest proposal to bring housing to downtown McLean targets a pair of modest office buildings, one of which was built nearly a century ago.
