Our Mom Eugenia’s Merrifield expansion is complete.
The family-owned Greek restaurant announced last week that its new, private dining room and outdoor patio at the Mosaic District (2985 District Avenue, Suite 185) are now available for reservations.
The expansion, which opened on Valentine’s Day, added 1,500 square feet to Our Mom Eugenia, nearly doubling its size to 3,370 square feet. The restaurant, which originally opened at the Mosaic District in August 2020, took over an adjacent suite vacated last year by The Italian Place.
“Our goal has always been to create a welcoming space where people can come together over our home-made Greek food,” Eugenia Hobson, the restaurant’s co-owner and executive chef, said in a press release. “With this expansion, we are thrilled to offer a dedicated private dining room, perfect for intimate gatherings, milestone celebrations, and corporate events.”
With the expansion, Our Mom Eugenia can accommodate an additional 48 patrons indoors and 36 more outdoor seats
Since the new space opened, it’s been “doing very well,” the restaurant told FFXnow.
“It fills up daily and does a couple of turnovers on Fridays and Saturdays,” Our Mom Eugenia said. “We have booked two private events so far, one in March and one in June.”
Here’s more on the expansion from the press release:
The newly designed private dining room provides a stylish yet comfortable setting for a variety of private events, including bridal showers, baptism dinners, rehearsal dinners, and business gatherings. Guests can expect the same exquisite Mediterranean flavors and impeccable service that have made Our Mom Eugenia a staple in the Northern Virginia dining scene, now in an even more spacious and accommodating environment. The accompanying outdoor patio addition will be ready when warmer temperatures roll around in April, just in time for Easter.
In addition to the expansion, the restaurant will continue to offer its full menu of fresh, high-quality Greek specialties, including beloved dishes such as moussaka, grilled whole fish, and house-made baklava.
The expanded Mosaic District location is now available for private event bookings. For more information or to reserve the new private dining room and patio, guests can visit www.ourmomeugenia.com or email info@ourmomeugenia.com.
Our Mom Eugenia is also still operating its original location in Great Falls (1025 Seneca Road #H) and a third spot in Arlington (4044 Campbell Avenue).
Other recent changes at the Mosaic District have included the arrival of HiFi Tex-Mex BBQ, which celebrated its grand opening in the former Red Apron space at 8298 Glass Alley on Saturday (March 1).
As reported last week, the Florida-based donut chain The Salty and the cafe Maman are expected to open in the neighborhood this summer, and Hawkers Asian Street Food and the furniture store Herman Miller are also in the works.
