Wendy’s is back up and running in Herndon.

The fast-food chain temporarily shuttered its restaurant at 2160 Centreville Road, just outside town limits, late last year for a remodeling. After welcoming customers back on March 23, Wendy’s will celebrate its return with a grand reopening celebration this Saturday (April 12).

As part of the celebration, the first 100 customers aged 16 and older in line when doors open at 10:30 a.m. will receive a full year of free food, franchise owner Flynn Group announced.

Specifically, winners will be eligible for one free sandwich, salad or breakfast per week for a year. The offer will only be valid at the Herndon location, and a purchase is required.

“Flynn Group is excited to officially bring the Wendy’s dining experience to Herndon,” Flynn Group Vice President of Marketing Jerrod Mitchell said in a press release. “As a leader in the food service industry, Flynn Group views each of our new locations as an investment to the communities we serve. We look forward to delivering quality food and impeccable customer service to our new and returning guests in Fairfax County.”

The largest Wendy’s franchisee with over 300 stores across eight states, Flynn Group also owns and operates locations in Annandale, Burke, Centreville, Chantilly, Springfield and Vienna.

Construction to renovate the Herndon restaurant began on Dec. 8, 2024, a Flynn Group spokesperson told FFXnow.

The 3,329-square-foot building was updated “a more modern, contemporary design” that includes “open, bright dining areas with multiple seating options,” the press release says. It also now features a new Coca-Cola Freestyle beverage dispenser.

According to Flynn Group, the newly reopened restaurant is expected to add 45 jobs. Hiring remains open for hourly employees at all of the company’s franchises, including for crew members, shift leaders, assistant managers and general managers.

Wendy’s in Herndon is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for both sit-down and drive-thru service.
