Texas Donuts to offer free treats for upcoming Vienna opening

The long-awaited Vienna location for Texas Donuts will officially open its doors next week.

Next Wednesday (Dec. 3) is the scheduled grand opening for the new donut shop, located at 167 Glyndon Street SE, a spokesperson confirmed to FFXnow.

Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m. with Vienna Mayor Linda Colbert, customers will be treated to free donut holes while supplies last.

“Vienna has been on our radar for quite some time,” owner Hoang Ton said. “We’re proud to bring our fresh-made donuts and kolaches to this vibrant community.”

The donut shop, which began construction earlier this summer, replaces the departed MidnighTreats in Glyndon Plaza. The Vienna store will be the brand’s fourth, following locations in Centreville, Lorton and Manassas.

Founded in 2002, Texas Donuts boasts a full slate of “authentic, southern-style donuts,” with both cake and yeasted options, according to its website.

Customers can choose from traditional glazed, frosted and filled varieties as well as more unique flavors, such as a likeness of Sesame Street’s Cookie Monster with a donut hole in its mouth and other character-themed donuts.

The Texas Donuts menu also includes croughnuts — which one customer in Centreville called a “hybrid love affair between a croissant and a donut that gives you a massive, but pillowy donut” — and savory options, like sausage kolaches and croissant sandwiches.

Following its grand opening, the Vienna store will be open Monday through Saturday starting at 5 a.m. Sunday hours are 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., though all locations are closed on Tuesdays.

Perhaps signaling a shift in dessert trends after Vienna previously hosted rival giant cookie and mochi donut shops within blocks of each other, Texas Donuts will soon find itself embroiled in competition.

Another Southern-style donut brand, Shipley Donuts, plans to open across Maple Avenue from the new Texas Donuts location, though no specific date has been announced.

“We look forward to opening the first Shipley Donuts in Vienna on Maple Avenue in 2026, bringing our famous handmade fresh daily donuts and kolaches to the community,” a spokesperson said.
