QTS Data Centers takes office lease at Reston Row

A data center operator with multiple locations in Northern Virginia is establishing an office presence in Reston.

Reston Station developer Comstock Companies announced that QTS Data Centers signed a lease at 1800 Reston Row Plaza in Reston Station. The data center operator will occupy 77,000 square feet in the building’s entire 11th, 12th and 13th floors.

The company is planning to use the Reston Row space for headquarters for administrative functions to support its growth.

“As QTS continues to grow, we are making long-term investments in our people that support our growth plans and provide an unparalleled employee experience,” said Tag Greason, co-CEO at QTS. “Reston Station’s premier location, accessibility and vibrant business community make it an ideal home for our headquarters.”

FFXnow has reached out to Comstock for comment on QTS Data Centers’ plan for the space. QTS Data Centers is also maintaining a headquarters location at 22271 Broderick Drive in the Ashburn area and another in Overland Park, Kan.

In Virginia, QTS has four Ashburn data centers, one each in Manassas and the Richmond metro area, and three more in development in the Richmond metro area. It also has other locations open or under development in the U.S. and Europe.

Other tenants that have signed onto Reston Row include Razor’s Edge Ventures and Booz Allen Hamilton. JW Marriott Hotel and Residences and the 419-unit BLVD Haley apartment building are also open at Reston Row. The expanding retail list currently features Noku Sushi, Tous les Jours and Vida Fitness, and Ebbitt House is expected to open in the fall.
