The time has come for Vienna residents to take a stand on the town’s parks and recreation facilities, events and programming.

The Town of Vienna will host an “interactive” community meeting next week to solicit public input on its new parks master plan. Dubbed “Our Plan to Play,” the document will establish a vision for the town’s parks and rec system, identifying existing gaps and amenities that could be added in the future.

The winners of the 2024 ArtsFairfax Awards are in.

ArtsFairfax, a nonprofit that serves as Fairfax County’s arts agency, announced this week that it will honor Reston dancer Shu-Chen Cuff, philanthropist Anne R. Developer Cityline Partners secured the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors’ approval yesterday (Tuesday) to construct a dual-branded Hilton hotel on part of a block originally slated to become an 18-story office building.

Wag N’ Wash has set a grand opening date for its Vienna store, more than a year after it took over 144 Maple Avenue West from Loyal Companion.

The pet supply and grooming retailer officially announced its expansion into Virginia last Friday (May 3). The new locations in Vienna and Arlington (2501 N. Harrison Street) will be formally introduced to their respective communities with a weekend-long grand opening celebration on May 18-19.

Reston-area residents will no longer have to trek to the Fairfax County Courthouse to access some basic court services.

The Fairfax Circuit Court, which serves both the county and Fairfax City, announced today that it will open a satellite location next Tuesday, May 14 in the Cathy Hudgins Community Center at Southgate (12125 Pinecrest Road) in Reston.

The days of pickleball at Annandale’s Kendale Woods Park are coming to an end.

In response to noise complaints from neighboring residents, the Fairfax County Park Authority will remove the pickleball lines from the park’s two racquetball courts, turning them back into tennis-only facilities.

Coming on the heels of Sushi Umi’s soft opening last month at Scotts Run, Umai Ramen and Rice Bowl anticipates launching its new sister restaurant, Umai Ramen and Donburi, at Tysons West this summer, according to owner and chef Jaa Preeyaporn Aroonchokthawon.

An adult man was taken to the hospital yesterday (Monday) afternoon after he was hit by a vehicle on Frying Pan Road in the Herndon area.

Installation of the inline skate rink donated by the D.C.-based professional hockey team to Lake Fairfax Park (1400 Lake Fairfax Drive) in Reston is expected to finish this week, according to the Fairfax County Park Authority.
