A touring production of Pytor Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” will return to Tysons this winter, and it’s inviting local kids and teens to take part.

Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet will hold auditions tomorrow (Thursday) for dancers aged 6 to 17 who would like to participate in its upcoming shows at Capital One Hall on Dec. 1.


Another outpost of national chain Marco’s Pizza could be coming to Fairfax County.

As the brand eyes an expansion across the state, Centreville is one location being considered by franchisee Marcel Clarke, the chain said.

A Greek restaurant is planning to take over formerly Italian territory at the Mosaic District in Merrifield.

Our Mom Eugenia will nearly double the size of its space at 2985 District Avenue, Suite 185, by expanding into the neighboring Suite 190 that was vacated earlier this year by The Italian Place, according to Fairfax County permit records.


It’s starting to look a lot like Halloween outside Carnegie Diner and Cafe in Vienna.

The restaurant at 501 Maple Avenue West ushered in October with the launch of an outdoor “Pumpkin Patch” that will supply local residents with gourds and nearby James Madison High School with some funding.

Fairfax County’s first location of a popular chicken tender chain is set to open its doors later this week.

Raising Cane’s will hold its grand opening at 6363 Seven Corners Center on Thursday (Oct. 3), replacing the former Dogfish Head Alehouse that closed two years ago in the neighborhood’s eponymous shopping center.

A nearly 3,200-square-foot facility for dog training has opened in Springfield.

Zoom Room, located at 6812 Bland Street, held its grand opening last Saturday (Sept. 21). It’s the first location in the D.C. area for the national chain, which currently has more than 100 centers nationwide.
