Encore Creativity for Older Adults is pleased to raise the curtain and welcome community members to its spring concert at Capital One Hall in Tysons, VA on May 4, 2024. The concert, which starts at 3 PM, will bring hundreds of Encore singers from across the country together for a grand celebration of creative aging, with singers from Encore Chorales, Encore ROCKS ensembles and Sentimental Journey Singers joining in harmony alongside live accompaniment. Tickets are required for this event and can be purchased on Capital One Hall’s website at: https://www.capitalonehall.com/events/detail/encore-creativity-spring-performance
Encore Chorale ensembles will take audiences through a wide variety of choral favorites, from Giuseppe Verdi’s classic Va Pensiero to a choral highlights medley of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s perennial Broadway hit The Sound of Music. Encore ROCKS ensembles, choirs singing choral arrangements of rock & roll hits, will delight in an eclectic mix of rock music spanning the decades, including tailor-made commissioned arrangements of Margaritaville and Peggy Sue. Sentimental Journey Singers, a part of Encore’s Arts for Life programs for those with cognitive change, will sing nostalgic songs Down by the Riverside, High Hopes, Sentimental Journey, and more alongside their care partners.
“Encore Creativity singers share their love for music each week in rehearsal. Singing together and harmonizing with others makes you happy and healthy, and we are beyond thrilled to share that same joy with our audience at Capital One Hall,” said Joshua Vickery, Chief Executive Officer of Encore Creativity for Older Adults.
Tickets are required and begin at $14; Ticketmaster fees apply. Tickets can be purchased on Capital One Hall’s website. For more information, go to https://encorecreativity.org/event/encore-creativity-at-capital-one-hall/ or call (301) 261-5747.
