It turns out that Spiderman, as portrayed by Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue Technician II Kelly VanWingerden, is not much of an artist, Prince William County fire and rescue officials said in a news release.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors is looking to fund upgrades for its aging public safety facilities and transportation network through bond referenda that may appear on the November ballot.

The supervisors unanimously endorsed a plan yesterday (Tuesday) to seek voter approval for a $306 million investment that would modernize Metro facilities, refurbish old fire stations and build a new police training center.

Kingstowne residents are reeling after a fire blazed through 10 townhomes yesterday (Monday).

No injuries were reported in the two-alarm fire, which drew firefighters to the 6900 block of Banchory Court in the Terrington neighborhood around 12:40 p.m., the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department says.

Multiple people were hospitalized last night (Sunday) following a two-vehicle crash on I-66 near Vienna.

The two vehicles crashed in the interstate’s westbound lanes around 11:13 p.m. at the 62-mile marker near Nutley Street, according to the Virginia State Police. One of the vehicles caught on fire, the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department said.

Fort Belvoir Fire and Emergency Services and the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department were dispatched to the Davison Army Airfield (6954 Britten Drive) around 6:30 p.m. in response to an overturned government fuel truck.
