A pedestrian has died after being struck by two different drivers on Richmond Highway early this morning (Thursday).

Police officers and Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units were dispatched to Richmond Highway at Fort Hunt Road in Huntington at around 1:43 a.m. after one of the drivers reported to 911 that they “hit a pedestrian and then another car ran them over,” according to the police scanner.

A motorcyclist has died following a multi-vehicle crash on Wednesday, June 17 that fully shut down Richmond Highway (Route 1) in the Lorton area.

First responders, including police officers, medics and a helicopter, were dispatched to Richmond Highway at Mims Street at around 3:29 p.m. for a crash involving a motorcycle and a car, according to scanner traffic.

Local and state police will soon be allowed to enforce speed limits and other traffic laws on the George Washington Memorial Parkway, though drivers might not see an immediate increase in officers and troopers.

Fairfax County police believe a driver might’ve been speeding when she fatally crashed on Old Keene Mill Road in Springfield on Tuesday (June 9).

Charity McGhee, a 49-year-old resident of Alexandria, was driving a Toyota Camry east on Old Keene Mill Road when the sedan appears to have veered off the roadway “and struck a guardrail” near Tiverton Drive, the Fairfax County Police Department said in an update yesterday.

Fairfax County detectives have charged three teenagers with grand larceny after recovering more than $4,500 of allegedly stolen merchandise from a vehicle the trio was in, following reports of multiple thefts in Tysons.

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, detectives from the Tysons Urban Team responded to a report of a larceny at a store in the 1900 block of Chain Bridge Road in Tysons around 12:38 p.m. on June 3.

Three people employed by Fairfax County Public Schools were arrested this week for different crimes at local schools, including one case of allegedly inappropriate behavior with a student.

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, Langley High School math teacher Matthew Thorsen, 38, was taken into custody at his home in Reston yesterday (Thursday) after detectives found that he had “engaged in unlawful and inappropriate contact with a student.”
