Vienna leaders are warming up to the idea of a public swimming pool, a decade after throwing cold water on the idea when planning community center renovations.

Consultants hired to research possible long-term uses of the former Faith Baptist Church property at 301 Center Street South — now known as the Annex — shared their final recommendation of an indoor aquatics and fitness facility with the Vienna Town Council at a work session on Monday (Sept. 30).

Two local businesses are partnering up to host a food drive in Reston next month.

New Trail Cycling & Strength, the independent fitness studio in Lake Anne Plaza, and The Reston Letter, an online and print community newsletter about Reston, will collect donations to support Food for Neighbors. The drive is hosted by New Trail.

Club Studio has completed a $11 million retrofit of the former 24 Hour Fitness at Tysons West (1500 Cornerside Blvd A). The 48,891-square-foot gym opened for workouts just before the Fourth of July and began offering classes last Friday (July 5), the business announced on Instagram.

A family-owned bakery from North Bethesda and a brand-new fitness studio are coming to one of the newest buildings in Tysons.

Heming developer Skanska announced today (Wednesday) that Sunday Morning Bakehouse and Apparati Wellness Studio will both open locations in the mixed-use apartment building at 1800 Chain Bridge Road.

D1 Training, a concept that emphasizes athletic-based training, will celebrate its grand opening at 1700 Bracknell Drive on Feb. 12. Located between a Trader Joe’s and a Wendy’s, the site previously belonged to a carpeting and flooring store.

A new gym is slated to open soon at Fox Mill Shopping Center in Herndon, giving residents another option for fulfilling their fitness-related New Year’s resolutions.

Anytime Fitness will occupy a 6,000-square-foot space at 2551 John Milton Drive in Herndon, according to the center’s leasing website.
