Japanese restaurant Japomen, a popular sushi and ramen spot outside the Dunn Loring Metro station in Merrifield, is heading further south in Fairfax County.

Japomen is under construction in the Hilltop Village Center in Kingstowne at 6460 Old Beulah Street. It will fill a space previously occupied by DonutChew between Mattress Warehouse and Deka Lash.

A mental health care provider is charting new territory in Virginia.

Serenity Mental Health Centers will open a clinic in the Fair Oaks area next week, its first in the state. A temporary clinic will launch at 12150 Monument Drive, Suite 375, on Monday (Aug. 4), with a permanent location following later in Suite 815, also in the One Monument Place office building.

A Virginia private school that serves students with autism and other behavioral health needs is relocating from Loudoun County to Reston.

Rivermont Schools announced last Wednesday (July 23) that its Sterling campus at 45305 Catalina Court will move next month to a new facility at 11411 Isaac Newton Square South. The buildout is expected to finish in August, in time for the start of the 2025-2026 school year.

The new Sassanova in McLean’s Chesterbrook Shopping Center is a milestone in more ways than one.

Officially opened today (Thursday), the fashion boutique at 6224G Old Dominion Drive represents the Maryland company’s first expansion into Virginia, and at 2,262 square feet, it’s the largest location yet.

A popular Northern Virginia donut chain will soon open in Vienna.

Minor renovations are underway on the forthcoming Texas Donuts at 167 Glyndon Street SE in the Glyndon Plaza shopping center. Signage recently posted across the storefront announces that the business is “coming soon,” though employees at another location didn’t know about a possible opening date.
