Bobby’s Bagel Cafe is shuttering its doors at North Point Village Center in Reston, but the closure will come one month later than originally estimated.
Business representative Nishi Arora tells FFXnow that the shop will now close on Nov. 30 instead of Oct. 31. As previously reported, Bobby’s Bagel Cafe is set to be replaced by the D.C.-based deli Call Your Mother, which expanded its Northern Virginia presence with an opening in Vienna this week.
It’s unclear what’s in store for the Herndon location at Fox Mill Shopping Center (2571 John Milton Drive) in Herndon. The center’s leasing page says the space will be vacated “soon,” but Bobby’s Bagel Cafe told FFXnow that it will remain open in Herndon and Oakton, where it can be found in the Oakton Shopping Center at 2914 Chain Bridge Road.
Bobby’s Bagel Cafe opened in Reston in 2019, selling New York-style bagels, sandwiches, salads, pastries, charceuterie boards and a variety of hot and cold beverages.
Recently, the business has gotten a boost in online prominence, thanks to viral videos on TikTok showcasing its seasonal pumpkin-shaped bagels. Arora told WTOP that the team began selling the treats a few years ago after pumpkin-flavored bagels failed to gain traction in 2020, but they didn’t take off until this fall.
In a message on its website, the cafe now advises customers to preorder the pumpkin-shaped bagels two to three days in advance “to minimize the risk of them being out of stock” as a result of “the high demand.”
Anchored by Giant, North Point Village Center is almost fully leased, listing only a 2,800-square-foot vacancy next to Mathnasium. In addition to Call Your Mother, incoming tenants include Greenheart Juice, which got approval for a sign last week but doesn’t yet have a definitive opening date.
