Dogfish Head Alehouse targets October opening in Reston

Dogfish Head Alehouse’s long-awaited return to Fairfax County will take a little longer than expected.

While the restaurant had originally targeted a summer 2026 opening, owner Viswa Vasireddy has confirmed to FFXnow that the new location at 11995 Inspiration Street in Reston Town Center is now likely to open in the fall.

“We are planning for an October opening for now,” said Vasireddy, who also owns Dogfish Head Alehouse’s location in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

He said construction should be “in full force” this week.

Dogfish Head Alehouse is independently owned and operated under a licensing agreement the Delaware-based Dogfish Head Craft Brewery. The 7,550-square-foot space will be its first restaurant in Virginia since locations in Seven Corners and Greenbriar Town Center closed three years ago.

Once it opens, Dogfish Head will join Toastique, Paris Baguette and Molly’s Dog Care in Reston Town Center’s expansion area south of the Washington & Old Dominion Trail.

Other upcoming restaurants and retail establishments slated to open at the town center this year include the Italian restaurant Grazie Nonna and Livewell Animal Hospital. Collars & Co, a “Shark Tank”-funded menswear company, opened this past Saturday (June 6).

The award-winning Vienna restaurant Clarity, which is also owned by Vasireddy, was aiming for a May opening at 1996 Opportunity Way in the expansion of the town center. It is now expected to open within the next couple of weeks.

As noted by The Burn, a website for the Reston location has launched with dinner and drinks menus.
