In case the present is becoming a bit overwhelming, a pair of upcoming events at Colvin Run Mill in Great Falls will give visitors the opportunity to escape into the past.

The historic site, located at 10017 Colvin Run Road, will first offer an adults-only experience with a Spirited Grains Whiskey Tasting this Saturday (May 17) starting at 4 p.m.

    Another option for Korean fried chicken is cooking in Annandale, and so far, it appears to be getting a thumbs up from patrons.

    Bb.q Chicken opened its doors on March 18 at 7131 Little River Turnpike, where it shares a building with Cafe V. This is the chain’s fourth location in Fairfax County, joining locations in Idylwood, Centreville and Tysons.

    Fast-casual stir fry chain Honeygrow is opening its 59th location tomorrow (Friday) at Fair City Mall (9600 N Main Street) in Fairfax City.

    The company received a $25 million investment earlier this year and has been on a spree of new openings, with another location launching in Springfield in March. Honeygrow also signed a lease earlier this year for a restaurant at Barcroft Plaza in Lincolnia.


    A local sushi restaurant chain is in the process of expanding to Herndon.

    Signage for Sushi Oishii, which already boasts locations in Vienna and Maryland, has appeared on a storefront located mere miles away from Dulles International Airport.

Precipitation chance is 60%, with rainfall under a tenth of an inch, although higher in thunderstorms. For Thursday night, showers and possible thunderstorms prevail mainly before 2am, with continued chances thereafter. The low will be around 57°F, and light wind turns northeast at 6 mph after midnight. Precipitation chance rises to 80%, with rainfall amounts between half and three-quarters of an inch possible.     The more things change in Tysons, the more they stay the same, it appears.

    Food Corner Kabob House, located at 8315-B Leesburg Pike, closed last month after more than a dozen years in the Tysons Square shopping center. Signage has since appeared signaling a new tenant that will also be a kebab shop.
