A longstanding movie theater in Centreville has changed hands, raising the prospect that it could be redeveloped in the future.

Finmarc Management, a commercial real estate firm based in Bethesda, Maryland, announced on Friday (Nov. 21) that it has acquired Cinemark Centreville (6201 Multiplex Drive) and Xscape Theatres (7710 Matapeake Business Drive) in Prince George’s County for a combined $15.1 million.

The Reston and Herndon business corridor was the standout for office leasing across Northern Virginia in the third quarter, according to new data.

While total leasing volume regionwide dipped 25.8% year-over-year, the Reston and Herndon area posted its best performance in three years and totaling about one-third of leasing activity in Northern Virginia as government contractors shrugged off economic challenges and looked toward higher defense spending, according to Savills Research & Data Services.

The Journal reported on Friday (June 27) that the CIA — appropriately through a pseudonym but linked to the same exclusive ZIP code — has purchased the 434,000-square-foot Dulles Discovery 2 office building at 13870 Air and Space Museum Parkway.

The developer behind Tysons West is expanding its ambitions to the east side of Route 7 (Leesburg Pike).

JBG Smith, a Chevy Chase-based company also known for its extensive involvement in Arlington’s National Landing area, has acquired the three office buildings at Tysons Dulles Plaza (1410, 1420 and 1430 Spring Hill Road) for $42.3 million — a significant discount compared to previous sales.
