A man who shot at police officers during a chase that came to an end in Fairfax County has pleaded guilty to three charges.

Ricardo Singleton, 30, pleaded guilty on Oct. 16 to three counts of assault on law enforcement in Fairfax County Circuit Court.

A new online tool will give people in Fairfax County a quick way to identify and report illegally parked commercial vehicles.

The county launched the “Parking Violation Public Report” tool yesterday (Tuesday), Mount Vernon District Supervisor Dan Storck announced during the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors meeting.

Approximately 100 Fairfax County Police Department personnel will be on hand in D.C. to provide public safety support services on Inauguration Day.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved a memorandum of understanding today (Tuesday) with the D.C. government and U.S. Attorney for the District, authorizing county staff to participate in Presidential Inaugural Task Force from Jan. 17-21.

A Springfield man was arrested yesterday (Wednesday) in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a motorcyclist in May.

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, detectives determined that Michael Burghardt, 46, was driving a 2022 BMW M440i north in the southbound lanes of Rolling Road when he hit a southbound motorcyclist near Delong Drive in Newington on May 12.

An apparent dispute between a customer and the employees of a nightclub in Woodlawn took a dangerous turn last weekend, police say.

Officers were dispatched to Club One in Woodlawn Shopping Center (8786 Richmond Highway) at 12:58 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 13) after a caller reported a man brandishing a gun, according to the police scanner.

Fairfax County police released body camera footage yesterday (Monday) of the Sept. 16 shooting of a 33-year-old woman during a welfare check in Reston.

An officer trained in crisis intervention fatally shot and killed Sydney Wilson, a Reston resident, after Wilson injured the officer with a knife, the video shows, corroborating the Fairfax County Police Department’s previous description of the encounter.

Glen Simmons, 57, died on Sunday (Oct. 13) — almost three weeks after he was struck by a driver while walking on Patrick Henry Drive shortly before 8 p.m. on Sept. 25, the Fairfax County Police Department announced yesterday (Monday).

During school hours on Friday (Oct. 11), David Scalea, a 40-year-old resident of Great Falls, “began inappropriately touching himself underneath his desk” in a classroom, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

An Oakton man has died after he was hit by a driver while riding an electric bicycle in the Fair Oaks area yesterday (Wednesday), the Fairfax County Police Department said in a news release today.

Officers responded to the intersection of West Ox Road and Tilton Valley Drive at 12:14 p.m. for a crash involving a bicyclist who was struck by a gray Kia sedan, according to police scanner traffic.

A man reportedly spotted brandishing a machete in Merrifield was arrested yesterday (Tuesday) after five hours of negotiations with police.

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Livingstone Lane in the Merrifield at Dunn Loring Station apartments at 6:13 p.m. on Monday (Oct. 7) after a man called 911 to report someone with a machete.
