It’s a good week to be a foodie in Fairfax.

The regionwide Metropolitan Washington Summer Restaurant Week is now underway, and later this week, Fairfax City Restaurant Week will return with a total of 27 participating restaurants.

The local baker behind Dano’s Granola can now, once again, call Reston her personal and professional home.

Relocating from Chantilly, the snack business will officially unveil its new retail shop and production space at 11495 Sunset Hills Road, Suite 105, with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon on Sept. 6, owner and founder Dania Abimourched says.

Last week was a busy one in the D.C. area for Tous les Jours. A day after soft-launching at Reston Row, the bakery chain began serving its signature French pastries and bread in Tysons.

The Tysons franchise opened Friday (Aug. 15) alongside Dumpling District in the first Virginia site of area restauranteur Zong Chen’s Luna Hall, a food hall that launched in D.C.’s Chinatown in 2023 and can now also be found in Wheaton and Ellicott City in Maryland.

After introducing itself to D.C. and Arlington in July, the food hall and delivery service Wonder is planning to serve up its roster of celebrity chef-driven restaurants to Fairfax County this fall.

Forthcoming locations in Franconia and Reston are on track to open in September and October, respectively, a Wonder spokesperson confirmed to FFXnow.

The D.C. region’s annual Summer Restaurant Week is coming back next week, and around 30 restaurants around Fairfax County are joining in.

The restaurant week is run by the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW), which also organizes winter restaurant weeks. Restaurants offer three-course meals for brunch, lunch and dinner with some wine and cocktail pairings at some locations.

Food distributors operating in Fairfax County say newly approved cuts to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits could have a devastating impact on a region already struggling with food insecurity.

President Donald Trump’s recent federal tax bill includes historic cuts to safety net programs like SNAP, the Washington Post reported.

A popular Northern Virginia donut chain will soon open in Vienna.

Minor renovations are underway on the forthcoming Texas Donuts at 167 Glyndon Street SE in the Glyndon Plaza shopping center. Signage recently posted across the storefront announces that the business is “coming soon,” though employees at another location didn’t know about a possible opening date.

Tous les Jours is coming to Tysons with a few other eateries in tow.

The bakery, which started in Korea but serves French-style pastries, will anchor Luna Hall Tysons, a new food hall expected to open on the ground floor of the office building at 8201 Greensboro Drive near Tysons Galleria later this summer.

Reston Town Center has booked another restaurant tenant for its expansion along Sunset Hills Road.

The Italian restaurant Grazie Nonna and the deli Grazie Grazie — which share an owner and are primarily based in D.C. — are both expected to open at the development known informally as RTC Next in spring 2026, a public relations representative for property owner BXP told FFXnow.
