Reston’s new Taco Bell appears to be on the verge of reopening.

The fast-food restaurant at 11257 Roger Bacon Drive has been closed for months, as franchise owner Summerwood Corporation undertook a wholesale demolition and replacement of the existing building.

Mountain Mike’s Pizza has signed an agreement to open three new restaurants across Fairfax and Loudoun counties, the company said.

Hungry customers seeking the flavors of Mexico have a new spot to try in Kingstowne’s Hayfield Shopping Center.

El Fogon Taqueria officially opened its doors in the shopping center this spring with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 8, replacing the former Kochix restaurant at 7554 Telegraph Road.

Virginia may need to enact more food safety requirements at the state level in response to cutbacks and deregulation efforts by the Trump administration, two legislators and several advocates said at a recent forum.

“We have historically, in my opinion, not done the kind of oversight we need to do. We’ve let the federal government do most of it,” Del. Mark Sickles (D-17) said during the press event on May 28.

An upcoming bakery in Tysons is inviting customers to get an early taste of its croissants and other pastries before it officially opens.

Sunday Morning Bakehouse will host a pop-up tomorrow (Wednesday) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Heming’s lobby at 1800 Chain Bridge Road. An assortment of croissants, brioche donuts and cookies will be available for purchase, along with hot coffee, iced matcha and iced oat milk latte.

Wonder, a New York-based concept that serves food from restaurants across the country for dining in, takeout and delivery, is planning to open several locations across the D.C. area this year, including ones in Reston and Franconia.

An event celebrating the flavors of Tysons Corner Center eateries is making a comeback next weekend.

Taste of Tysons Corner is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, from 1-4 p.m. at Tysons Corner Center (1961 Chain Bridge Road), and will feature a mix of food and events.

Wendy’s is back up and running in Herndon.

The fast-food chain temporarily shuttered its restaurant at 2160 Centreville Road, just outside town limits, late last year for a remodeling. After welcoming customers back on March 23, Wendy’s will celebrate its return with a grand reopening celebration this Saturday (April 12).

In the coming months, Tysons Corner Center will shake up its retail lineup with a mix of brand-new stores and existing brands undergoing renovations.

The first newcomer is Mejuri, which will open its 42nd shop on the mall’s second floor near Nordstrom this Friday (April 11). This will be the Canada-based jeweler’s second location in the D.C. region, following a 2023 opening at Bethesda Row in Maryland.
