After a nearly year-long delay, Bunnyman Brewing opened its second location at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton late last month.

The Fairfax-based brewery, which also operates a location in Burke just south of Royal Lake Park, officially launched its new outpost at 9514 Workhouse Way on June 29, coinciding with the Workhouse Arts Center’s Independence Day fireworks event.

A new option for those looking to get fit without having to endure the summer heat is now available in Tysons.

Club Studio has completed a $11 million retrofit of the former 24 Hour Fitness at Tysons West (1500 Cornerside Blvd A). The 48,891-square-foot gym opened for workouts just before the Fourth of July and began offering classes last Friday (July 5), the business announced on Instagram.

A new coffee shop has opened in Herndon, just in time to provide a morning pick-me-up for those returning to work after the Fourth of July holiday.

Old Town Coffee welcomed its first customers today (Friday) at 315 Spring Street in the Reston-Herndon Business Park. The shop is connected to the adjacent Moo Thru ice cream parlor, which is also owned by longtime residents Frank and Caitlin Kenney.

At a new store in Herndon, customers can survey the Taj Mahal, the Colosseum and the Empire State Building in miniature all at the same time.

Bricks & Minifigs, a national retail chain in the niche market of reselling LEGO mini-figures, bricks and sets, opened in Herndon on June 8. The occasion was reminiscent of Black Friday, with people standing in line two hours before the doors opened, franchise manager Soma Chatterji told FFXnow.

A commercial warehouse space in Tysons that currently houses a fitness studio and gold dealer is being targeted for a different kind of recreational use.

A new business called Smok’d has proposed turning three suites at 8453 Tyco Road into a “high-end” indoor firing range with a smoking lounge, according to a special permit application submitted to Fairfax County last Thursday (June 27).

A growing Yemeni coffee company is now welcoming visitors to its first brick-and-mortar home in the D.C. area.

Qamaria had a soft opening for its new Vienna cafe on May 21, serving hot and cold drinks as well as freshly baked pastries in a 1,900-square-foot space at 124 Maple Avenue West that was previously occupied by Viva Sol Juice.

If you’ve visited Tysons Corner Center recently, you may have noticed some changes around the mall, from stores bouncing to different locations to a large LED screen looming over the Tysons One Place and Westpark Drive intersection.

Some of the alterations are the result of $110 million in combined investments in the property made over the past year by mall owner and developer Macerich and by its retailers, according to a recent press release highlighting some of the enhancements.

A new pet hospital is opening up in Fairfax City.

Bond Vet, a full-service veterinary clinic for dogs and cats, is opening later this month at 9428 Fairfax Blvd, across from the Giant supermarket under the Scout on the Circle apartments. There is no definitive opening date yet, but a spokesperson told FFXnow it plans to open “within the month.”

The new owner of the now-closed ShowPlace Icon Theatre at The Boro in Tysons has been revealed.

Look Dine-In Cinemas has signed a deal to take over the 1,795-seat movie theater at 1667 Silver Hill Drive, the Washington Business Journal reports. The theater is slated to reopen on Friday (June 21) after ShowPlace held its final screenings this past Sunday (June 16), FFXnow was told.

McLean’s Chesterbrook Shopping Center will officially welcome two new retail tenants this week, while preparing for another anticipated launch later in the summer.

The openings will kick off today (Tuesday) with SkinSpirit, a skin care and medical spa that describes itself as a “leading provider of Botox and filler.” Located at 6224 Old Dominion Drive, Suite D, this is the clinic’s first location in Virginia and its third in the D.C. area.
