Fava Pot and Game Show Battle Rooms will officially open to the public later this month, a spokesperson for The Boro announced.

The shopping center’s owner, an affiliate of the developer Silver Companies, revealed the identity of its new tenant at 3058 Gate House Plaza in a special exception request that Fairfax County zoning staff accepted for review on Feb. 25.

Moo Thru, a Virginia-based ice cream franchise, is working to open its next ice cream shop in Burke.

Franchise owner Morgan Johnson confirmed to FFXnow that the shop plans to open this summer at Burke Town Center (6025H Burke Centre Parkway). The timing is dependent on permit approvals and construction.

EatLoco Farmers Market is preparing to open a location at the Halley Rise mixed-use development, bringing a new weekly farmers’ market to Reston.

The new market will be held Sundays, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the parking lot of Halley Rise near the intersection of Reston Parkway and Sunrise Valley Drive. March 29 will be the opening day.

A pair of Arlington-based technology companies are planning new offices in Fairfax County, collectively promising over 300 new jobs.

First, the space tech manufacturer Umbra announced last Thursday (Feb. 12) that it will expand to Reston, opening a 20,000-square-foot office expected to host over 100 employees. Then, defense contractor Grvty revealed yesterday (Tuesday) that it will establish a new corporate headquarters in Tysons.

Sky Zone, an indoor trampoline park, will soon bounce into the remaining space left by Sears at Fair Oaks Mall.

The indoor trampoline park chain confirmed to FFXnow that it is targeting a late 2026 or early 2027 opening at 1750 Fair Oaks Mall #1230. Sky Zone has four other Northern Virginia locations, including one in Springfield and one that just opened on Feb. 9 at Dulles Town Center in Sterling.

A secondhand furniture, home goods and clothing retailer is expanding into the Fairfax County market with a future location in Springfield.

Last week, Remix Market signed a five-year lease at 6909 Old Keene Mill Road, according to real estate firm Boosalis Properties, which represented the tenant in the transaction. The 6,250-square-foot standalone Springfield Executive Building has been vacant for years since MVC Couples Boutique, an adult entertainment store, closed in 2019.

Developer Peterson Companies announced today (Wednesday) that it has secured leases from the teams behind those local eateries and three other dining and shopping retailers — all expected to open over the next year.
