The 2024 Christmas shopping season is the last one that Kohl’s will spend in Herndon.

The department store will permanently close on Jan. 18 after over two decades at 2100 Centreville Road, a Kohl’s spokesperson says, confirming a report by The Burn.

The locally owned businesses at Lake Anne Plaza in Reston hope residents will still have an appetite for shopping after they get stuffed on Thanksgiving and scramble to take advantage of (or avoid) Black Friday.

Several shops at the plaza will offer discounts, specials and other deals throughout the day on Small Business Saturday, which falls this year on Nov. 30, according to OmBaked CBD Boutique, one of the participants.

Apricot Lane has arrived at Chesterbrook Shopping Center in McLean just in time for Christmas shopping to kick into full gear.

The clothing boutique opened yesterday (Thursday) at 6224 Old Dominion Drive, Suite 6F. The 1,987-square-foot store will be located in between another upcoming fashion store, Sassanova, and the restaurant Sorn Thai.

Apple’s days at Fair Oaks Mall are running low.

The tech giant will have its last day of business at the shopping mall (11750 Fair Oaks Mall) this Thursday (Nov. 7), an employee confirmed to FFXnow. The closure will precede a relocation to the nearby, outdoor shopping center Fairfax Corner, where the store will open Saturday (Nov. 9).

Halloween is still lurking around the corner, but Tysons Corner Center has a treat in store for anyone who wants to get a head start on their Christmas shopping lists.

Returning to Tysons after a stint at Fair Oaks Mall in 2023, Creative Collective will open a pop-up holiday shop at the mall on Oct. 25, occupying a currently vacant space on the first floor across from Camp through Dec. 24.

Fried chicken connoisseurs may be interested to know that the D.C. region’s biggest mall will soon be home to a Popeyes. Temporary signage wrapped around the fast food restaurant’s future space in the first-floor food court notes that it’ll be open Sundays — perhaps a cheeky shot at its rival in the chicken sandwich wars of 2019.

The mall will feature the first D.C.-area store for Chloé, a Paris, France-based fashion designer that sells clothes, shoes, bags and other accessories, the Washington Business Journal reported on Friday (Aug. 16).

A very tall, champagne-scented candle is going to light up Tysons Corner Center this weekend.

The 6.5-foot-tall wax column will be stationed on the mall’s first floor near Bath & Body Works from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 3-4), kicking off a tour of shopping centers and festivals in multiple cities across the U.S.

Kate Spade New York has officially made the jump from Tysons Galleria to Tysons Corner Center.

The fashion brand opened a new store in the larger mall last Friday (July 19) after closing its Galleria location in June. Located on the second floor next to Swarovski, Kate Spade New York sells handbags, jewelry, fragrances and other accessories.
