After serving the Town of Vienna for a quarter of a century, Marion Serfass is ready to see new sights.

She will work her final day as the town’s finance director tomorrow (Friday) after announcing plans last month to retire. Deputy Director of Finance Steven Barlow is set to succeed Serfass, starting Monday (Dec. 23).

A man was arrested last week after allegedly fleeing a crash in Vienna that left a pedestrian with serious injuries on Thanksgiving.

The pedestrian had gotten dropped off by a Lyft driver in the 900 block of Park Street SE around 8:15 p.m. on Nov. 28 and was crossing the street when a vehicle in the residential street’s northbound lane hit him, according to the Town of Vienna Police Department.

The chef behind Taco Bamba is expanding his presence at Vienna Shopping Center with a new steakhouse.

Electric Bull, which is described as an “upscale neighborhood spot,” will open in summer 2025 at 176 Maple Avenue West, just a couple of doors away from Taco Bamba’s Vienna restaurant. The 2,488-square-foot space was occupied by Cava until the fast-casual Mediterranean chain relocated to 418 Maple Avenue East in 2023.

Vienna Little League (VLL) has a new accolade under its belt, thanks to one standout coach.

Josh Cilman, who coaches boys and girls at the league’s “Majors” level, has been named 2024 Coach of the Year by Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care, which operates 23 urgent care centers in Northern Virginia. Announced on Nov. 19, the award comes with a $2,000 donation that the VLL can use for supplies and other resources.
