Scattered snow showers are expected mainly after 2pm, with increasing clouds and a high near 33. Winds will be calm, eventually turning south at around 5 mph, and a 40% chance of precipitation. On Friday night, snow showers may occur before 1am, followed by a low around 13 and a transition to partly cloudy skies. Fairfax City’s chocolate festival returns with venue change, new charity run

Fairfax City’s annual Chocolate Lovers Festival is returning for its 34th year later this week, assuming the weather is more cooperative than it was for the McLean Chocolate Festival.

Kicking off with a free concert on Friday (Feb. 6) and continuing through Sunday (Feb. 8), the festival will feature a variety of tasting opportunities, culinary crafts, entertainment and — in a new addition for this year — a 1-mile run for charity.

Vienna Inn marks 66th anniversary with specials, events for diners

Vienna Inn will celebrate its lasting power in town by commemorating its 66th anniversary in February.

The restaurant’s 66th anniversary celebration begins this week with a month-long series of events and specials to thank customers for over six decades of support.

Dance company that canceled Kennedy Center visit to offer free show at GMU

A New York dance company that recently nixed scheduled appearances at the Kennedy Center is coming to George Mason University’s Center for the Arts instead.

Doug Varone and Dancers will visit the Fairfax performing arts venue (4373 Mason Pond Drive) on Saturday, April 25 for a free show in the concert hall, the Center for the Arts announced today.

    First participating eateries revealed for fifth annual Vienna Restaurant Week

    The first restaurants have been announced for Vienna Restaurant Week, which is slated to return next month to showcase the town’s diverse culinary scene.

    This year’s restaurant week will run 10 days from Feb. 27 to March 8. Participating restaurants will offer specially-priced prix fixe menus, exclusive specials or limited-time dining experiences.
