Paul Mitchell’s beauty school is departing Tysons Corner Center after almost two decades of providing hair care services and training at the mall.

After halting acceptances of new students, the school is observing its last day of business today (Wednesday).


After a successful preview at last month’s Taste of Vienna, the men behind Evelyn Rose seem confident that their upcoming restaurant will prove worthy of its location.

The brainchild of owner Sam Schnoebelen and chef Nick Palermo, Evelyn Rose is on track to open in late May at 111 Church Street NW, replacing Bazin’s on Church after the bistro ended an 18-year run on April 27.


Reston golfers can now hone their swing in a temperature-controlled, indoor environment.

CitySwing opened an indoor golf studio in Reston Town Center on Wednesday (May 8), filling a space at 11897 Market Street that Williams-Sonoma vacated more than five years ago. During its soft launch, the studio is operating from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.


Reston Concerts on the Town will kick off this Saturday (May 18) in conjunction with the Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art’s annual arts festival.

The Reston Town Center Association (RTCA) and property owner Boston Properties unveiled a performance lineup last week for the free summer concert series, which is now entering its 31st season.

Known for its French-style bread, pastries, desserts, and sandwiches, Paris Baguette’s upcoming location at 6811 Bland Street will be its fifth in the Fairfax area, joining other sites in Tysons, Herndon, Fairfax City and Centreville.
