Taim Mediterranean Kitchen has officially opened its doors at Plaza America.

The restaurant opened at 11692 Plaza America Drive in Reston on Dec. 6. To celebrate, Taim offered a feast on the house that was attended by over 800 people, according to a company representative.


Martin Luther King Jr. Day is this Monday (Jan. 15), and local events will honor the civil rights leader and provide community engagement opportunities.

The holiday marks King’s birthday (Jan. 15, 1929), and it is also a Congressionally-designated day of service.

Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington has enlisted dozens of establishments to participate in this year’s Winter Restaurant Week, which will run from Monday, Jan. 15 to Sunday, Jan. 21.


The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles is departing Fair Oaks Mall.

The department’s Customer Service Center in the mall will relocate this month to a larger site at 9855 Braddock Road, just next door to the Woodleigh Chase Senior Living community. The move was driven by a “need for more space to better serve the growing Fairfax area,” a DMV spokesperson says.


Pupatella is now popping out pizzas at its newest location in Fairfax County.

The regional chain officially opened at 13619 Route 50 in Chantilly yesterday (Tuesday). Located in Chantilly Plaza, the roughly 3,000-square-foot restaurant is Pupatella’s ninth overall and fourth in Fairfax County.


Myron Mixon Pitmaster BBQ is officially cooking at the Dunn Loring Metro station.

The Southern-style barbecue joint launched its new location at 2670 Avenir Place with a soft opening on Dec. 28. Initially limited to dinner service, the restaurant expanded its hours on Sunday (Jan. 7) and is now open from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
