First, Kreole Seafood and Cocktails permanently closed after July 14, less than a year after introducing its Creole-meets-Asian concept. Then, the Florida donut bakery, The Salty Donut, announced yesterday (Monday) that it will open its first Virginia location in the Merrifield neighborhood.

The new owner of the now-closed ShowPlace Icon Theatre at The Boro in Tysons has been revealed.

Look Dine-In Cinemas has signed a deal to take over the 1,795-seat movie theater at 1667 Silver Hill Drive, the Washington Business Journal reports. The theater is slated to reopen on Friday (June 21) after ShowPlace held its final screenings this past Sunday (June 16), FFXnow was told.

Angie’s Restaurant will permanently close its doors after this weekend, wrapping up decades of serving gyros, omelets and more in the Kings Park West neighborhood.

The Greek and Italian diner’s last day of business will be this Sunday (May 26), one employee told FFXnow. Another said the team opted to close because the landlord for Twinbrooke Shopping Center, where Angie’s is located, “raised the rent too much.”

After halting acceptances of new students, the school is observing its last day of business today (Wednesday).

Taim Mediterranean Kitchen in Reston has permanently closed just four months after its opening.

The New York-based chain, known for its falafel, initially held a grand opening at 11692 Plaza America Drive in Reston on Dec. 6. However, the restaurant suddenly closed this month without warning.

Vienna restaurants Bazin’s on Church and Bazin’s Next Door (111 Church Street) will close later this month after the restaurant space was sold to new owners.

After 18 years, owner Julie Bazin said she and her husband were looking forward to traveling and spending time with family and friends, while new ownership takes over the location.
