Patrons at Sisters Thai in Tysons will be sipping plenty of tea this weekend.

After opening in Capital One Center last fall, the restaurant is expanding the offerings at its flagship location with the introduction of high tea service from its recently introduced Flore Café.

Update — Lakeside Asia Cafe didn’t reopen on March 18 as previously advertised. In an updated announcement on its website, the restaurant now says it will open its doors again on April 1.

Earlier: By this time tomorrow (Tuesday), Lakeside Asia Cafe should be back up and running.

Fairfax County will need to hire more than 20 new staff and spend about $2.8 million a year to administer a countywide meals tax, if one is authorized in the coming months.

Even with the additional expenses, overall revenue would far exceed the costs of administering the program, which would tax food and drinks served by restaurants and other food service establishments, staff told the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors at a budget policy committee meeting yesterday (Tuesday).

Matchbox is no longer just about pizza, especially in McLean.

In late February, the regional chain rolled out an expanded “Matchbox Prime” dinner menu with steak and seafood options exclusively at its McLean location, which opened at 1340 Chain Bridge Road next to Lidl in April 2023.

In mere days, the Town of Vienna will kick off its annual Restaurant Week.

More than 40 restaurants will offer prix fixe menus, discounts or specials as part of the event, which starts Friday, March 7. A “festive social event” will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. that day at the Vienna Town Green, featuring music, giveaways and free refreshments.

On the Border, which has occupied a standalone building at 11880 Spectrum Center since the mid-1990s, closed with no apparent warning late last week. The location was the Texas-based Mexican chain’s last remaining spot in Fairfax County.
