The Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington’s (RAMW) Winter Restaurant Week is back.

Starting next Monday, Jan. 27 and continuing through Sunday, Feb. 2, the biannual campaign to promote the D.C. region’s culinary scene will feature more than three dozen restaurants from Fairfax County, along with establishments in the District, Maryland and elsewhere in Northern Virginia.

The Ramyun Zip in Centreville is a ramen lover’s paradise.

Upon entering the restaurant at 14215T Centreville Square, customers are greeted by a floor-to-ceiling selection of nearly 100 different types of sealed noodle packs, ranging from mild to extra spicy.

Joon, the high-end Persian restaurant that chefs Najmieh Batmanglij and Christopher Morgan opened in Tysons in 2023, once again led the way, coming in at no. 24 — one notch down from its placement on the 2024 list.

Taco Bell is working on a makeover in Reston, but when it will be delivered is not yet clear.

The fast-food chain closed its existing restaurant near the Wiehle Metro station at 11257 Roger Bacon Drive around mid-November, erecting a chain-link fence around the building to indicate that construction on a planned renovation is near.

The locally owned businesses at Lake Anne Plaza in Reston hope residents will still have an appetite for shopping after they get stuffed on Thanksgiving and scramble to take advantage of (or avoid) Black Friday.

Several shops at the plaza will offer discounts, specials and other deals throughout the day on Small Business Saturday, which falls this year on Nov. 30, according to OmBaked CBD Boutique, one of the participants.

A Fairfax City donut shop is back in business today (Thursday) following three days of tax-related closures.

Employees at Duck Donuts confirmed that the store was shut down on Monday (Nov. 18) by the Virginia Department of Taxation, which had placed multiple tax liens on the business.

The Cheesecake Factory is getting ready for its big move across Route 123.

The chain will close its existing location at Tysons Galleria at the end of November before reopening at Tysons Corner Center on Dec. 5 at 11:30 a.m., according to an announcement posted to its website.

A man was rushed to Inova Fairfax Hospital with critical injuries Tuesday afternoon after being stabbed at the McDonald’s in Bailey’s Crossroads.

Fairfax County police were dispatched to the fast food restaurant at 5603 Leesburg Pike around 2:19 p.m., according to police scanner traffic.

More than half of Northern Virginia’s top 10 restaurants can be found in Fairfax — either the county or the city, according to one regional magazine.

In its November issue, which hit newsstands last week, Northern Virginia Magazine released its annual ranking of the region’s 50 Best Restaurants, as determined by its four food critics. A few Fairfax establishments have become permanent fixtures, but the 2024 list also includes some first-timers and comebacks.
