Several new restaurants and retail stores are in the works at Reston Town Center, including a few that haven’t been previously confirmed.

Six new retail leases were announced today (Wednesday) by property owner, manager and developer BXP, which touted the signings as a mix of local and national businesses that will “continue to enhance Reston Town Center’s ability to offer something for everyone.”

A longtime fixture of the Spectrum at Reston Town Center is gone.

On the Border, which has occupied a standalone building at 11880 Spectrum Center since the mid-1990s, closed with no apparent warning late last week. The location was the Texas-based Mexican chain’s last remaining spot in Fairfax County.

Reston Town Center will embrace the season this weekend with a new wintry event.

Ice-travaganza” will bring ice sculptures with live carving demonstrations, free hot chocolate, a live DJ, an ice skating performance and other winter-themed activities to the town center’s Mercury Fountain plaza and pavilion at 11900 Market Street on Saturday, Jan. 25.

Marriott’s new hotel at Reston Town Center is ready to start accepting guests.

Operated by Donohoe Hospitality Services, the dual-branded AC Hotel and Residence Inn opened today (Wednesday) at 1975 Opportunity Way, delivering 267 rooms conveniently located along Metro’s Silver Line for travelers coming in from Dulles International Airport.

One of Reston Association’s most popular programs is coming back later this month.

The Senior Movie Day program will kick off its 30th year on Jan. 22 with a screening of the Annette Bening-starring biopic “Nyad” at Look Dine-In Cinemas (11940 Market Street) in Reston Town Center.

MidnighTreats is going to bring its monster-sized, vegan cookies to Reston Town Center.

The homegrown business will move from its original Reston storefront in Plaza America to a currently vacant space at 1826 Discovery Street next to Playa Bowls, possibly late next spring, according to MidnighTreats owner and founder Johnny Nguyen, who said late last week that the deal “was just finalized.”

More details have been released about the restaurant that will occupy the lobby of Reston Town Center’s upcoming Marriott hotel.

Seven Restaurant will launch on the street level of Marriott’s AC Hotel and Residence Inn at 1975 Opportunity Way in January 2025, when the dual-branded hotel is expected to open its doors.

A new dog care business from a local couple has staked out territory in the developing expansion of Reston Town Center.

With construction expected to finish later this month, Molly’s Dog Care will officially open its doors at 11992 Inspiration Street on Dec. 8. The nearly 4,000-square-foot center will offer day care, boarding and grooming services to pups of all sizes and personalities, according to its website.

A new route is now available to help pedestrians and bicyclists travel between Reston Town Center and its paired Metro station.

The newly completed pedestrian bridge over the Washington & Old Dominion Trail near the Reston Town Center Transit Station (12051 Bluemont Way) drew “lots of people” when it opened over the last weekend (Nov. 2-3), one reader told FFXnow.

Reston Town Center will have to wait a little longer than anticipated for a hotel closer to its Metro station.

The dual-branded Marriott hotel under construction in RTC Next — developer BXP’s expansion of the town center — is now expected to open its doors in January 2025, slightly later than the late 2024 completion previously projected.
