More details have been released about the restaurant that will occupy the lobby of Reston Town Center’s upcoming Marriott hotel.

Seven Restaurant will launch on the street level of Marriott’s AC Hotel and Residence Inn at 1975 Opportunity Way in January 2025, when the dual-branded hotel is expected to open its doors.

Leaders of Fairfax County Public Schools are under growing pressure from both the Fairfax City School Board and their own school board to shed light on accusations of recruiting violations at Hayfield Secondary School.

The City of Fairfax School Board approved a resolution on Monday (Dec. 2) formally requesting that FCPS contract an independent investigator “with expertise in athletic ethics and compliance to conduct a thorough review” of Hayfield’s football program.

A new bank will be checking into the Town of Vienna in the new year.

Citibank will open a branch at 201 Maple Avenue East in early 2025, a spokesperson confirmed to FFXnow. Construction on the 2,304-square-foot space formerly occupied by Noodles & Company has been underway for weeks.

Buoyed by recent Department of Defense contracts, AttainX will invest $175,000 and create 32 new jobs to expand its operations in Fairfax County, Gov. Glenn Youngkin announced today (Wednesday).

Pickleball and tennis courts at two parks in the McLean area might be retired in the future.

The Fairfax County Park Authority is considering relocating two shared-use courts at Linway Terrace Park (6246 Linway Terrace) in McLean. Westgate Park (7508 Magarity Road) in Tysons also has two courts — one dedicated to tennis and one for both tennis and pickleball — slated for removal.

Construction is moving along on United Airlines’ new concourse at Dulles International Airport, a 14-gate expansion that officials say will usher in a “new era of growth” for the D.C. region’s largest airline.

Expected to open in late 2026, the 435,000-square-foot Concourse E will directly connect to the airport’s underground Aerotrain station, add capacity for international flights and offer new amenities, including retail, concessions and a 40,000-square-foot United Club for the airline’s members.

The family of a Springfield man who was recently killed in a plane crash will also bury the ashes of one of the dogs he was transporting.

The family of Seuk Kim, 49, went to Leesburg on Sunday (Dec. 1) to pick up the ashes of a puppy named Lisa, who died alongside Kim when his 1986 Mooney M20J crashed in the Catskill Mountains about 35 miles southwest of Albany, New York, on Nov. 24.

The chef behind Taco Bamba is expanding his presence at Vienna Shopping Center with a new steakhouse.

Electric Bull, which is described as an “upscale neighborhood spot,” will open in summer 2025 at 176 Maple Avenue West, just a couple of doors away from Taco Bamba’s Vienna restaurant. The 2,488-square-foot space was occupied by Cava until the fast-casual Mediterranean chain relocated to 418 Maple Avenue East in 2023.

The 2024 Christmas shopping season is the last one that Kohl’s will spend in Herndon.

The department store will permanently close on Jan. 18 after over two decades at 2100 Centreville Road, a Kohl’s spokesperson says, confirming a report by The Burn.
