A 20-year-old man from Maryland was arrested earlier this week for allegedly stealing from a gaming supply store in Fairfax City while dressed as Spider-Man.

Officers with the City of Fairfax Police Department were dispatched at 11:01 a.m. last Saturday (March 15) for a report of a burglary that occurred overnight at Gaming Giant (4021 University Drive), according to a press release.

Two men who pleaded guilty to stealing more than 50 firearms from a Newington gun store will each spend most of the next decade in prison.

Cedric Minger, 22, of Maryland was sentenced yesterday (Wednesday) to serve nine years and six months behind bars by the U.S. District Court for Virginia’s Eastern District. Victor Jones, 22, of Washington, was sentenced to nine years earlier this month in the same court.

A Reston man was arrested late last week for allegedly breaking into and stealing from several businesses around Fairfax City.

According to the City of Fairfax Police Department, officers were first called to Halalway International Supermarket at 4072 Jermantown Road around 8:45 a.m. on Aug. 8. Overnight, an “unknown” man had forced his way into the business and stolen money, investigators found.

Fairfax County police have arrested a Maryland man who allegedly burglarized multiple homes in Dunn Loring.

The 58-year-old man was arrested following a burglary that was reported in the 7900 block of Tire Swing Road in the Shreve Hill neighborhood around 10:25 a.m. on May 24, the Fairfax County Police Department said in a news release.

Police have arrested four people in connection with multiple home burglaries involving pretend flower deliveries in Fairfax County.

The Fairfax County Police Department announced on Jan. 10 that it was investigating five recent home burglaries linked by a woman who was seen on surveillance cameras pretending to deliver flowers. After determining that no one was inside, she alerted two men in a waiting vehicle who broke into the houses and stole cash, purses and other valuable items, police said.

A man who claimed he was stabbed by two masked strangers outside Dulles Town Center in November now faces charges of filing a false report and embezzlement from the mall’s Sports Nation store where he worked.

On Nov. 10, Fawad Fafa, 44, filed a report with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office claiming to have been a victim of a stabbing in the parking lot of the Dulles Town Center Mall in Sterling.

A man was arrested in Maryland earlier this week for allegedly following a woman, assaulting her and trying to break into her house in Bailey’s Crossroads.

Fairfax County police officers and detectives were called to the home in the 5700 block of Poplar Lane near Bailey’s Crossroads at 12:31 a.m. on Dec. 8 for an assault and burglary, according to a news release.
