A motorcyclist has died following a crash involving two SUVs on Route 28 near Dulles International Airport, police say.
Police and Fairfax County Fire and Rescue units were dispatched to northbound Route 28 (Sully Road) at McLearen Lane in Chantilly at 1:55 p.m. for the crash, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
A Herndon man has been arrested for allegedly sexually soliciting a child online and then trying to meet them in Tysons, police say.
Detectives from the McLean District Station got a tip around 6:52 p.m. on June 7 that Gerry Frank Burde, 41, had contacted an underage individual “via an internet platform,” the Fairfax County Police Department said in a news release published today (Thursday).

A woman was killed and a man got injured in a crash just south of Route 29 in Centreville on Monday (June 24), police say.
Officers responded to the intersection of Braddock and Pickwick roads around 9:50 p.m. after getting a call that two pedestrians had been hit by a driver, the Fairfax County Police Department reported in a press release published last night (Tuesday).

Fairfax County police have arrested a special education teacher at White Oak Elementary School in Burke for assaulting multiple students.
On April 12, Child Protective Services received a referral that a teacher was seen assaulting a student at school, police said in a Saturday news release.
Detectives took on the case and determined that between September 2023 and this April, Elizabeth Yoshimi Nagagata, 62, of Fairfax allegedly assaulted three students on separate occasions, the release said.
On Friday, Nagagata was arrested and charged with seven counts of simple assault. Nagagata was held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without bond.
Detectives would like to speak with anyone who may have information about this case or others possibly related. Those with information are asked to please call the Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800, option 4.

When an officer went to investigate an allegedly stolen vehicle at Fair Oaks Mall this morning (Friday), one of the vehicle’s passengers commandered the officer’s cruiser and crashed it near the Fairfax County Government Center, police say.
The Fairfax County Police Department says it arrested three people in the incident, which sent two officers and the person who allegedly stole the police cruiser to the hospital.

Officers were called to the liquor store at 8413 Old Courthouse Road at 7:58 p.m. for a report of a larceny, the Fairfax County Police Department says.

A 68-year-old Springfield man has been charged in connection to a fatal crash that killed a motorcyclist near Burke’s Rolling Valley shopping center this spring.
The Fairfax County Police Department announced today (Friday) that the driver was charged with failing to yield the right of way after he allegedly crashed into the motorcyclist while trying to turn left out of the shopping center onto Old Keene Mill Road on April 25.

The family of a McLean man who was shot and killed by the police in 2022 has sued the Fairfax County Police Department for wrongful death.
The lawsuit was filed in Fairfax County Circuit Court on Wednesday (June 12), the Washington Post reported. It alleges that Police First Class Officer Edward George “had no reasonable ground” to believe he or anyone else was in immediate danger when he shot 26-year-old Jasper Aaron Lynch multiple times at the Lynch family home on July 7, 2022.
