Halal burger truck to open first brick-and-mortar spot in Tysons Galleria

Updated at 4:25 p.m. on 8/8/2024 — Char’d will get a grand opening at Tysons Galleria at noon on Aug. 18, the business announced on Instagram.

Earlier: A food truck that sells halal burgers has staked out a spot in Tysons Galleria (2001 International Drive) for its first brick-and-mortar location.

Reston to mark 60 years with party, cookout at Lake Newport Pool

Reston Association plans to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Reston’s founding with a community pool party and cookout later this month.

The event, free for all RA members and recreation pass holders, is set for 4 p.m. July 20 at the Lake Newport Pool and Recreation Area (11601 Lake Newport Road).

NEW: Call Your Mother sets grand opening date for McLean deli

Call Your Mother’s McLean location will morph from a food truck into a physical storefront this weekend.

The popular bagel shop will hold a grand opening for its newest deli at 6232 Old Dominion Drive in the Chesterbrook Shopping Center this Sunday (July 7), according to a notice posted to its website.

Old Town Coffee opens in Herndon next to Moo Thru

A new coffee shop has opened in Herndon, just in time to provide a morning pick-me-up for those returning to work after the Fourth of July holiday.

Old Town Coffee welcomed its first customers today (Friday) at 315 Spring Street in the Reston-Herndon Business Park. The shop is connected to the adjacent Moo Thru ice cream parlor, which is also owned by longtime residents Frank and Caitlin Kenney.

Legos of yesteryear assemble at Herndon’s new Bricks and Minifigs store

At a new store in Herndon, customers can survey the Taj Mahal, the Colosseum and the Empire State Building in miniature all at the same time.

Bricks & Minifigs, a national retail chain in the niche market of reselling LEGO mini-figures, bricks and sets, opened in Herndon on June 8. The occasion was reminiscent of Black Friday, with people standing in line two hours before the doors opened, franchise manager Soma Chatterji told FFXnow.

Tysons’ 1st Stage theater unveils lineup for 2024-2025 season

Mere days after closing out its 2023-2024 season, 1st Stage in Tysons is pulling back the curtain on a new year of community theater.

The professional theater company will kick off its 2024-2025 season later this month with the return of its annual Logan Festival of Solo Performance, a two-week event that draws solo actors from across the U.S. with performances, workshops, discussions and other activities.
