A new fast food operator appears to be taking over the former Burger King adjacent to the Hunters Woods Village Center in Reston.

It’s currently unclear what will replace the now-vacant building at 2270 Hunters Woods Plaza, where Burger King shuttered last year.

The daytime eatery First Watch will welcome July by unveiling its newest location in the Fairfax area.

The chain is set to open in Fair Lakes at 7 a.m. on Monday, July 1. At 7,668 square feet, the former TGI Friday’s at 12249 Fair Lakes Promenade Drive is First Watch’s biggest restaurant yet, boasting a spacious interior and an outdoor patio that can seat over 200 people combined.


Lake Fairfax Park isn’t the only spot in Fairfax County planning an early Fourth of July party this year.

The Fairfax County Park Authority’s Independence Day celebration in Reston will compete tomorrow (Saturday) with festivities in McLean, Lorton and Mount Vernon, where George Washington’s estate will kick off two days of fireworks tonight (Friday).

Burlington is set to open its doors in Mount Vernon this weekend, offering the first 100 customers a $10 discount on their first purchase.

Formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory, the discount retailer will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, June 28, at 7690B Richmond Highway in the Mount Vernon Plaza outdoor shopping center to celebrate its new store’s grand opening.
