French-inspired coffee and pastry chain eyes Merrifield location

A French-inspired chain of breakfast cafes is going to say “bonjour” to Merrifield.

The Mosaic District will become home to the first Virginia location of Maman, a New York-based brand offering coffee, pastries and other bites.

Fairfax spots dominate top 10 in annual ‘Best N. Va. Restaurants’ ranking

More than half of Northern Virginia’s top 10 restaurants can be found in Fairfax — either the county or the city, according to one regional magazine.

In its November issue, which hit newsstands last week, Northern Virginia Magazine released its annual ranking of the region’s 50 Best Restaurants, as determined by its four food critics. A few Fairfax establishments have become permanent fixtures, but the 2024 list also includes some first-timers and comebacks.

Lazy Dog Restaurant signs lease for Kingstowne location

Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar is officially coming to Kingstowne Towne Center.

After Romano’s Macaroni Grill closed its doors in January, the space at 5925 Kingstowne Towne Center will soon reopen as a Lazy Dog. While an official opening date hasn’t been set, a spokesperson for the restaurant confirmed the lease has been signed.
