The impending return of Winter Restaurant Week could provide a much-needed boost for the D.C. region’s food service industry.

While Fairfax County didn’t face all the same challenges last year as the District, where a record number of eateries reportedly closed amid inflation, tariffs and the presence of federal law enforcement and the National Guard, many local establishments will take part in the biannual promotional campaign, which will kick off on Monday (Jan. 19) and continue through Jan. 25.

A new food concept in Fairfax City’s Audacious Aleworks allows diners to get Pennsylvania-style diner food and locally-brewed beers all in one place.

Brian’s Brunch-A-Torium will celebrate its opening at 8 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24 and Sunday, Jan. 25 at Audacious Aleworks‘ tasting room at 10940 Fairfax Blvd Suite E in Fairfax City, Audacious Aleworks co-founder Brian Reinoehl told FFXnow.

    Comfort food from Thailand and matcha are the specialties of the family-owned Nalak Thai that opened in the Fair Oaks area.

    Nalak Thai had its soft opening in December at the Fairfax Court shopping center (11270A James Swart Circle) near Fairfax City limits. The space formerly hosted U-SA Thai.


    Matchbox has fizzled out at Reston Station, leaving behind an empty restaurant and outdoor patio.

    When the Washington Capitals take on the Chicago Blackhawks tomorrow (Friday), local fans will be able to take in the action while hitting the ice themselves at Reston Town Center.
