The convenience store chain 7-Eleven will be slightly less ubiquitous by the end of 2024.

The store inside Tysons Corner Center closed permanently on Sept. 23, a mall spokesperson recently confirmed to FFXnow. More closures may be coming in the weeks ahead, as 7-Eleven plans to shutter 444 “underperforming” locations across North America.

A Chantilly pizza and salad restaurant is planting the seeds for a transformation.

After six years in its current form, Farmtruck Pizza & Greens (14385 Newbrook Drive, Suite 500) announced this morning (Tuesday) that it will serve customers for the last time this Sunday (Sept. 15) before reopening early next year as Farmside Kitchen.

A sweet staple at Lake Anne Plaza is set to close its doors later this month.

Chesapeake Chocolates announced last Tuesday (Sept. 3) that it will shutter at the end of September after 17 years in Reston at 11426 Washington Plaza West.

Time is running out for Vienna residents to grab a giant cookie from MidnighTreats without having to leave town or pay a shipping fee.

The bakery at 167 Glyndon Street SE will close for good after this Saturday (Sept. 7), less than two years after opening in owner and founder Johnny Nguyen’s hometown. MidnighTreats announced the closure last Friday (Aug. 30) in an email to members of its rewards program.

Reston’s North Point Village Center will soon swap one local bagel maker for another.

Bobby’s Bagel Cafe is set to permanently close its shop at 1484 North Point Village Center on Oct. 31, an employee told FFXnow. In its place, the popular “Jew-ish” deli Call Your Mother will reportedly rise, continuing its recent expansion into Northern Virginia.

The Town of Vienna is now down to just one mochi donut shop.

Donutchew closed permanently last week after just over two years at 107 Maple Avenue West, serving its final customers on Thursday, Aug. 22. Though some customers got wind of the closure earlier, it wasn’t announced on social media until that evening.

The clock has run out on The Counter’s stay in Reston.

The custom burger eatery closed for good at the end of July after 15 years in Reston Town Center. Workers dismantled The Counter’s illuminated sign above the door at 11922 Democracy Drive Saturday (Aug. 24) evening — around the same time that Ice Cream Jubilee was wrapping up its grand opening.

One of the Shops at Avenir Place’s earliest tenants has left.

Spice 6, a fast-casual Indian restaurant, closed its doors last Wednesday (Aug. 21) after serving customers near the Dunn Loring Metro station for nearly a decade.
