    It turns out that the replacement for Four Sisters at Mosaic District won’t be a restaurant after all.

    Investment and financial advisory service Charles Schwab confirmed to FFXnow plans to open a new branch at 8190 Strawberry Lane, Suite 1 in Merrifield. That’s the former location of Vietnamese restaurant Four Sisters, which closed in May 2023 after 30 years.

    The annual Fairfax County Carnival and Fair will return to Frying Pan Farm Park in Herndon tomorrow (Thursday) for four days of food, rides and animals.

    Now in its 76th year, the event serves as the county’s signature summer celebration and a showcase for the local 4-H organization, which promotes agriculture, civic engagement, science and healthy living through a variety of programs for kids aged 5 to 18.


    Idylwood and Pimmit Hills residents will have a new destination for obtaining groceries, starting next month.

    Lidl announced today that its latest store will open its doors in Idylwood Plaza at 7511 Leesburg Pike on Aug. 12. The German chain is taking over a portion of the massive space vacated in February 2025 by Whole Foods Market, which relocated to Falls Church City.

    A new restaurant aims to bring a taste of regional food from one of China’s oldest and largest cities to Northern Virginia.

    Chin’s Xi’An Style Restaurant plans to bring hand-ripped noodles, prepared in a home style inspired by foods in Xi’An — the capital city of Shaanxi, a province in northwestern central China — when it opens its third location this August in Fairfax City. The new location will be based inside the 99 Ranch Market at 10780 Fairfax Blvd, with takeout or seating available in the grocery store.


    An entertainment company that combines indoor golf simulators with full-service food and drinks is coming to Tysons.

    Five Iron Golf anticipates opening its first Virginia location in early 2027 at Capital One Center, where it will occupy approximately 17,000 square feet across two floors of the banking giant’s headquarters building at 1675 Capital One Drive.
