    Expect showers and thunderstorms in the morning, with rain likely continuing into the early afternoon, then a chance of more showers and thunderstorms later. Highs will reach around 79°F, with east winds at 3 to 7 mph. There’s an 80% chance of rain, with rainfall amounts between half to three-quarters of an inch possible.     Wyclef Jean coming to Tysons this fall for Fairfax Symphony concert

    Hip-hop artist Wyclef Jean and the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra (FSO) will form an unexpected alliance at Capital One Hall this fall.

    The Fairfax Symphony announced this week that it will be joined in the main theater at the Tysons venue (7750 Capital One Tower Road) by Jean on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.

    Lake Anne Brew House to open vintage decor pop-up ahead of taproom expansion

    As preparations continue on a taproom expansion, Lake Anne Brew House will build anticipation for the new space with the launch of a vintage furniture pop-up.

    The resale shop Vintage Reston will initially open at 11426 Washington Plaza West, next door to the brewery, at Lake Anne Plaza this Saturday, Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 23 from 2-6 p.m.

    Bookstore owner to open literary ice cream shop in Fort Hunt

    The founder of Old Town Books in Alexandria is starting a new chapter as the owner of a literary-inspired ice cream shop set to open in Fort Hunt next year.

    Fabled Ice Cream — a small-batch brand that longtime Fort Hunt resident Ally Kirkpatrick launched last summer — will open at 7940 Fort Hunt Road in the Hollin Hall Shopping Center.

    Shawarma restaurant set for soft opening tomorrow in Vienna

    A new restaurant specializing in shawarma and other Iraqi cuisine is ready to make its debut in Vienna.

    Mashahweez Shawarma and Grill will welcome its first customers in the Vienna Shopping Center at 128 Maple Avenue West with a soft launch tomorrow (Wednesday).

    Makers Union to replace now-closed Matchbox pizzeria at Mosaic District

    One of the very first restaurants to open at Merrifield’s nascent Mosaic District development has permanently closed its doors.

    Matchbox shuttered on Sunday (Aug. 16) after more than 13 years in business at 2911 District Avenue, Suite 120, community members shared on the popular Facebook group Vienna VA Foodies.
