Snow is expected in the morning, followed by a possibility of snow and freezing rain, with a high temperature near 32°F and southeast winds at 3 to 5 mph. There is an 80% chance of precipitation, but minimal ice accumulation and less than half an inch of new snow are anticipated. Bar in Old Town Fairfax expands offerings with live music

After more than two years in business, Mackenzie’s Tunes & Tonics can finally live up to the first half of its name.

The bar and restaurant in Old Town Fairfax (3950 University Drive, Suite 210) can now host live music, a new chapter that it will commemorate with a ribbon-cutting at 4 p.m. today (Thursday) and a weekend of “special events.”

Developer hopes to install drive-thru ATM at new Springfield bank

A local developer is seeking to install a drive-thru option for a new bank in Springfield.

Property owner Federal Realty has applied for a special exception from Fairfax County to construct an “ATM only drive through” at 6331 Backlick Road, the site of a forthcoming Chase Bank in the Tower Shopping Center.

Popular Alexandria dog store expands to Belle View Shopping Center

A new pet store opened over the weekend at the former Pampered Pet Boutique & Barkery (1612-A Belle View Blvd) in the Belle View Shopping Center.

The Dog Store in Belle View represents an expansion of a popular business with the same name that owner Paul Haire opened in Alexandria City’s Del Ray neighborhood (2301 Mount Vernon Avenue) in 2014.

    Safeway staying at Rose Hill shopping center considered for redevelopment

    Rose Hill Plaza’s future will include Safeway — at least for the immediate future.

    Owner Combined Properties announced on Nov. 20 that the grocery chain has signed a lease extension keeping it at the shopping center in Rose Hill “for more than a decade to come.”
